DITR: Javien Williams

Javien Williams is a class of 2022 offensive guard and defensive tackle for General Trass High School. He is 6’1 and weighs 290 pounds. He has made 1st Team All-District in 2019 and again in 2020. He benches 350 and squats an impressive 500 pounds. Javien is a big bodied interior lineman that has good size and exceptional strength. He has an explosive first step that allows him to overpower his opponent on contact. Has good use of his hands and get off blocks. Overall, a good offensive guard. Javien has accepted an invitation to play in the 2021 Gridiron Football All-Star Bowl Game on Decemebr 30th (5pm kick-off) at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, La.

Tell me a little bit about yourself. Well, I am from Lake Providence, LA, and my hobbies include playing football and fishing.

How did you start playing football? It started from peewee football league. When I was little, I liked playing and I liked competition.

What is your main goal for this season? Is to do better than last season and to win state.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned from football? I would say patience because from when I started freshman year up to senior year, I just got better and better.

What is a long term achievement you want to accomplish? I would say just taking football as far as I can.

Who or what keeps you motivated? My grandmother. She’s at all my games and I love looking in the stands and seeing her.

Who would you compare your style of play to and why? Offensive wise, Quinton Nelson, he’s dominant the way he comes off the ball.

What do you think sets you apart from other players? I think my determination and I am very confident in what I can do. I don’t believe anyone can beat me.
