Coming into his second season as head coach of the Rams, Derron Thomas, is looking to improve his team, after their final game in 2023, Coach Thomas wanted to build off of what he saw in that game against Jeanerette. This offseason he established the five foundation and team is bought in on it.
“Biggest thing is that we have the five foundation, trust, faith, commitment, discipline, and sacrifice. So if we repeat that everyday, we say it everyday, we try to honor those five foundations, then if we can honor those five foundations consistently we’re gonna improve as a program.”
West St. John Head Coach Derron Thomas
Head coach, Derron Thomas, spoke about some of the Rams top players such as 2026 WR Jakari Milton which got a large about of praise from coach about how he has not missed workout or a practice since he has met him, and also high praise for 2026 WR J’Kyren Morris. He boasted heavily about freshman OL Aubrey White, who is going to help put this team in the right track.
Luckily for the Rams, they only lost four seniors this past season, so not much is changing when it comes to team dynamics. Also going into this season as well the Rams get some new challenges when it comes to new teams to go against such as Houma Christian and East Iberville.
“I can’t wait to play them all, because we got a lot of built up that we have to make right from last year.”
