Q & A ft. Sley Gardner
What made you choose football?
I have always been around it. I grew up on the sidelines watching my dad coach games. I was the ball boy, so I was always there and have always been in the environment.
What drives you?
What drives me is to always do better, to never be satisfied with where I am, and the desire to win to always succeed.
What do you believe are your strengths?
The way I take information and apply it, I am very coachable, and when I get told something, I do it, and I apply it.
Where have you improved most this year? (Could be in your personal life or in sports)
I have improved on my strength, flexibility, and speed. Those factors really affected me last season, and I believe I have improved a whole lot in those areas, and also the QB mechanics. I have worked to slowly perfect my craft.
What has football taught you?
Football taught me to be a leader, to work harder, and to have a drive to be the best I can be with anything and everything I do in life.
Do you have any goals for after high school? If so, what and why?
My goals after high school are to play at the next level, to go to college, and to go D1. That’s every kid’s dream, but I want to work to make that dream come true.
What do you think makes a great person/athlete?
What makes a great person and a greater athlete is their attitude. If you have a bad attitude, I don’t want to be around you; having a good attitude and a good work ethic makes you wanted. Having a good work ethic pushes people to want to work harder.
Are you involved in anything outside of football? If so, what?
I am involved in baseball, and I am in student council, 4-H, and FCA.
