Catholic dominates Dutchtown during homecoming game 45-7

The Catholic Bears hosted their homecoming game at Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge against rival Dutchtown Griffs. From the first play through the entire game Catholic dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. On the opening play, Catholic running back #6 Joshua Parker took a handoff 60-yard for a touchdown. The Bears running back is gifted with great vision and balance. He added another 80-yard touchdown before the half; totaling over 150 yards in the first half alone. The Bears had over 250 yards of rushing in the first half.

The Dutchtown Griffs did not just lay over and die; they fought hard for the entire game and had something to show of it. RB #7 Jacobi Williams broke off his own 80-yard touchdown run to give the Griff fans something to be excited about. QB #11 Dre Monroe had a good game despite what the stat sheet says. He has an incredibly strong arm with an equally strong, athletic body. Multiple drops lessened his yardage as well as his completion percentage. After an entertaining 60-yard kickoff return by #5 Terry Matthews, another dropped pass resulted in an interception following great field position.

The Bears are now 8-1, while the Griffs fall to 4-5. Catholic will finish their season at home against a struggling Broadmoor team. Dutchtown will finish their season also at home against McKinley who are on a three game losing streak.
