Alexandria High School (La.) athlete Amyrion Mingo has committed to play in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl that will take place in Baton Rouge, La. on Dec. 30 at Memorial Stadium.
Mingo is one of the top prospects out of the CenLa region. He was a two-time All-District selection at both cornerback and wide receiver. Last season, he was a first team All-State selection as a defensive back as he had 29 tackles, four interceptions and 12 pass breakups. He also helped the Trojans on the offensive side of the ball as he had 19 recptions for 204 yards and four touchdowns.
“It means a lot to me to play in the Gridiron game because it makes me feel like I accomplished something great this year and throughout my high school career that people noticed and are begging to recognize!”
Mingo has been offered by Northwestern State, ULM and Graceland University.
Mingo likes to model his gamer after former LSU great and current Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Odell Beckham, Jr.
“I admire his passion and swag he brings to the game and the way he always try to compete to the best of his ability!”
An interesting fact about Mingo is that he’s an avid horse rider back home.
