West Monroe 2024 TE Nate Green Ready To Make Full-Time Transition in the Trenches For Louisiana Tech

Nate Green is one of the most interesting prospects for the state of Louisiana for the 2024 class from West Monroe High School in West Monroe, Louisiana. At 6’4 and close to 300 pounds, it may seem that Green would play on the offensive line for the Rebels, but in fact, the Rebels’ star does his damage not only as a blocker, but as a receiving tight end. Despite having the frame and size of an offensive lineman, he also displays some great athleticism and soft hands.

“Just my feet and training quickness for routes. Playing tight end helps blocking speed off the edge.”

Green has also been one of the best at his position at both tackle and tight end making Honorable Mention All-Parish at tackle his freshman year and making All-District, All-Parish, All-NELA and Honorable Mention All-State as a tight end. Having the athletic ability and flexibility to play both positions helps him a lot as he models his game after one of the most athletic linemen in the game.

“Trent Williams for sure. I really want to have that aggressive and nastiness he plays with!”

Over the weekend, Green made his decision to commit to Louisiana Tech and that is where he plans on bringing that aggressive mentality and nastiness to the next level.

“There was a lot that played into my decision, but for me, it just felt like Tech is heading in the right direction!”

Heading into year two of the Sonny Cumbie era at Louisiana Tech, the Bulldogs now have six commitments, and based on his experiences with the coaching staff and the program, Green cannot wait to get going.

“They would continue to coach me and help me better my game in every way! I realized after my first trip over there to do a junior day that this was the place to be.”

When it comes to the plan for Green in Ruston, Green knew what his role is going to be, and that he is ready for it.

“Actually, they see me as an inside guy, which I’ve known throughout high school. That’s where I would play at the next level.”

Now that Green is all in on the Bulldogs, it is time for him to focus on one more run with the Rebels. Playing for one of the state’s most recognizable blue blood quarterbacks, Green is excited to suit up one more time in the red, white, and blue.

“I grew up watching my brothers play at West Monroe so I always dreamed of playing there so when it was my turn and opportunity, I was prepared. The atmosphere is greater than any high school in Louisiana and everybody will tell you that. It helps though being on a big stage and learning how to deal with pressure.”

Speaking of the big stage, the Rebels are hoping to get back there while trying to win their first state championship since 2011 and doing so with a new head coach in Todd Garvin.

“Coach Garvin is a great coach and I’m very excited to play under him. He knows how to coach every single player. He’s not the coach that coaches everyone the same. He knows how to make a connection with each player from 1st string to 4th string.”

Green wants to make it a smooth transition for his new head coach after coming over from Ouachita Parish and he is going to do whatever it takes to help the Rebels reach the top of the mountain again.

“I wanna improve on whatever will help us win. Plain and simple. Whatever I can do to help us win is what I will do!”

No matter the position or what role Nate Green will play at the next level, there is no question that he is ready to give it all for the Bulldog faithful.

“I want to just learn and improve my game. I know I want be the best and my goal is to help the team and learn to be my best!”

“Tech fans are getting a player that is there to win, and a player that will make everyone better!”
