Xavier Walker is a 5’9, 147 lb running back and linebacker from Vidalia, Louisiana who participated in the 2023 Gridiron All- American Bowl Game for Junior High. He had a great season this year, recording 25 tackles as a linebacker and rushed in a touchdown as a running back. He is a smart kid with a 3.0 GPA, and has an immense love for the game. A kid with a work ethic like no other, Xavier will go far in the game of football.
What is your favorite part about playing football?
The brotherhood and work ethic that comes with it, along with being able to play for my city.
Which position do you enjoy playing more and why?
I like linebacker because I can read the defense and I like to shut people down.
If you had to pick a college to play for right now, where would it be?
Between Southern, Alabama, or Louisville.
Who do you model your game after on each side of the ball?
For running back it’s Saquan Barkley, and for linebacker it’s Patrick Queen.
How have your coaches impacted you on and off the field?
On the field, they make me better at the game I love and push me to do my best. Off the field my coaches help grow me into a young man with good values.
Favorite highlight from playing football?
Either scoring a touchdown, or putting somebody on their butt.
Do you have any pregame routine or rituals?
I put my headphones on and get locked in. I also pray and thank God for the opportunity to play the game I love.
What challenges have you overcome in life and how did you get past them?
One of my brothers passed away about a year ago. I play the game to honor him.
Do you play any other sports, or plan to in high school?
I currently play basketball and baseball. When I get to high school I am going to start running track.
What stands out about your game?
I like to leave it all out on the field.
