In a stunning turn, Cubs returner Zay Martin made an impressive punt return for a touchdown, bringing the score to 21-0. The Eagles continued to struggle, managing only a brief drive before punting once more. The Cubs responded with a powerful ground game, culminating in a 35-yard run, setting up their quarterback to find receiver Charles Musgrove for yet another touchdown, extending the lead to 28-0. As the first half drew to a close, the Eagles finally found their rhythm, with a spectacular catch by Luke Lefors putting them on the board at 28-7. They would then force a fumble, regaining possession just before halftime. However, their attempt to close the gap with a field goal which they unfortunately missed, leaving the score at 28-7 as the teams headed to the locker room.

The Eagles struggled to gain traction on their subsequent possession, failing to capitalize as time expired in the third quarter. In a critical turn of events, the Cubs regained possession and began a methodical drive down the field. However, disaster struck as they fumbled the ball, allowing the Eagles to recover. Seizing the opportunity, the Eagles returned the fumble all the way to the Cubs’ three-yard line. Running back Corbin Odell then powered through for a touchdown, closing the gap to 35-7 late in the third quarter. The Eagles’ momentum was short-lived, as they punted the ball away to start the fourth quarter after another lackluster drive. The Cubs, facing a challenge of their own, also went three-and-out and sent the ball back to the Eagles. However, Cubs make a pivotal interception, thwarting the Eagles’ attempts to rally leading to another Corbin rushing touchdown putting the Cubs up 42-7.
