Two (#9 Northwestern and #10 Iota) top 10 class 3A teams met in Iota last night. It was a showdown between wills and the Iota Bulldogs came out as the victors by a score of 42-12. Iota Defensive Coordinator said before the game, “Northwestern is going to be tough, they have a lot of athletes.”
The Stars of the show for Iota were, QB Trae Rambin, FB Luke Doucet, RB Kollin Guillory, S Kam Aucoin, and LB Tayte Langley.
FB Luke Doucet reminded me of a young Jacob Hester. On several plays he broke through the defensive line and ran for huge carries. RB Kollin Guillory had two carries for 140 yards and 2 TD’s. S Kam Aucoin had a 70+ yard pick six before being called back on a questionable block in the back call. LB Tayte Langley continued his domination on the gridiron this week with his superb play.
For Northwestern, QB Montaze Sam can do it all. He lead the team in rushing while carrying the ball over 70% of the plays.
Next week Iota (4-0) takes on Mamou (0-4) and Northwestern (3-1) will play Crowley (2-2).
