TIGERS TO HOST ‘LSU STUDENT DAY’ AT FOOTBALL PRACTICE ON APRIL 19

BATON ROUGE – Head coach Ed Orgeron and the Tiger football team will welcome LSU students to football practice on Thursday afternoon (April 19) in Tiger Stadium for the annual “LSU Student Day”.

Next Thursday’s practice will be LSU’s final workout before playing the National L Club Spring Game presented by Tony Chachere’s, which will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 21 in Tiger Stadium.

“LSU Student Day” at football practice gives LSU students an opportunity to tour the team’s gameday locker room in Tiger Stadium along with entering Tiger Stadium the way the players do on a Saturday Night in Death Valley – through the chute with a touch of the “Win” bar as they exit the locker room.

The Tigers are scheduled to practice in shorts and helmets on Thursday from 4 p.m. until approximately 5:30. Once the Tigers are done with practice, LSU students will get a chance to take the field in Tiger Stadium to participate in several drills, including catching a punt, throwing a TD pass to a LSU football player and catching a touchdown pass from a Tiger.

There will also be a 40-yard dash competition for the students.

LSU students will have an opportunity to take the locker room tour, touch the “Win” bar and enter Death Valley through the chute starting at 4 p.m. that day. To take part in the locker room tour, LSU students should enter the stadium at the Jeff Boss Locker Room entrance, which is located on the north side of Tiger Stadium next to the student entrance for gameday during the fall.

Seating for the students during practice will be located on the west side of Tiger Stadium.

When practice is over, students will then be invited on to the field where they will have a chance to interact with players and participate in several drills.

The event wraps-up at approximately 6:30 p.m. where LSU students will be provided free jambalaya courtesy of Orgeron. The post-practice jambalaya dinner will take place on the ground level under the west side of Tiger Stadium.

To be admitted to practice, students must present their LSU ID as they enter the Jeff Boss Locker Room.

Thursday’s practice will be the final one before LSU hosts the annual National L Club Spring Game presented by Tony Chachere’s at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 21 in Tiger Stadium. Admission to the spring game is free.
