Rising Star: WR Cooper Terito St. George Catholic (Baton Rouge, La)

I had the opportunity to interview with Cooper recently to discuss his football journey, aspirations, and what drives him to succeed. Q. Who got you into football?

A. “My dad, he pushes me hard and helps me to be the best player I can be.”

Q. Why do you play the game of football?

A. “I love it. It’s fun and being on the field is the best feeling ever.”

Q. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned through playing football?

A. “If you want to be successful, you have to put in the work and the effort.”

Q. Where do you see football going in your life?

A. “Next year I am going to St. Michaels high school and hope to play there with my ability and improve my skills. I am just going to keep working.”

Q. What is your favorite football memory?

A. “Getting a touchdown and interception in the Superdome.”

Q. What does football mean to you?

A. “Everything. It changed my life because it keeps pushing me to get better and be successful in it.”

Q. What challenges have you had while playing football?

A. “Dealing with injuries like concussions and jammed fingers.”

Q. How did you overcome those challenges?

A. “Even while injured, just keep training and being healthy, keep putting in the work.”

Q. How do you stay trained and in football-shape during the off-season?

A. “Work on my strength and conditioning. Keep working during the off-season season and eating healthy. Train the most I can and improve.”

Q. How are you looking to get better and improve in football?

A. “Keep putting in the work and training. Train in the off-season and work on drills at my positions.”

Q. What are some goals that you have set for yourself in the future?

A. “Play football in high school and just keep improving from there. Hope to play in college but that all comes with the work. So, I am just going to keep putting the work in and training.”

Q. Who is your favorite football player and why?

A. “Jamar Chase. He just won the triple crown award in the NFL. He is a great player and went to LSU.”

Q. What football teams do you cheer for?

A. “LSU, Saints, and Bengals”

Q. What do you think your biggest strength is?

A. “My speed and hands”

Q. What are your goals going forward?

A. “Just keep working and getting better.”

Q. Do you have a fun fact about yourself?

A. “I have played in the Superdome.”
