Opelousas Catholic Defeats Rival Westminster Academy 56-0

This evening the once biggest game in the town of Opelousas, La was the across town rivalry game between Opelousas Catholic and Westminster Academy. This evening I watched a depleted Westminster give everything they had in a hard fought battle.

Opelousas Catholic is loaded this season with 3 awesome receivers and one huge Tight End. Big Adam Purser stood out on the OC. At 6’4″ and 240 lbs, he is a man among boys. He is more than just a huge blocking Tight End, he can stretch the field across the middle. SR WR  Devin Thierry made several spectacular catches with over 150 yards and 5 TDs. JR WR Adam Dupre  and SO WR Keon Coleman both were able to stretch the field and make huge plays.

For Westminster Academy, SR TE Joe Buckles stood out.  At 6’6″ he is a head taller than everyone on the field. However, he will need to bulk up in college. He is currently 197 lbs. His coach said this evening that he is very good at blocking and has good hands. This evening he played at Tackle due to a lot of injuries for WA.
