LSU got some big recruiting news for the 2025 class late Saturday night as North Shore High School (Houston, TX) four star linebacker Charles Ross announced on Twitter that he was going to commit to the Tigers after a successful visit to Baton Rouge today.

“Great day in the Boot! I had an opportunity to visit my family and become a member of a new family. I have officially committed to Louisiana State University. Tiger fans, Let’s Geaux!”

Ross credited the LSU defensive coaching staff including defensive coordinator Blake Baker on his commitment. The new LSU defensive play caller has excited Ross about his ability to play all over the field because of his 10.63 100 meter speed.

The talented 6’2, 205 pound prospect chose the Tigers over the likes of Baylor, Cal, Memphis, Pittsburgh, and others. Being a part of one of the most prestigious Texas high school football programs at Northshore, Ross helped lead his team to a 15-1 record and a state championship appearance with 71 tackles, six sacks, two pass breakups, two interceptions, and a pick six.

This latest commitment adds another name in an already impressive 2025 recruiting class that is currently ranked number one in the country. Ross is the number 27 linebacker in the country and the number 40 player in the state of Texas.
