Jared Jones is the fifth player from Sophie B. Wright to be committed to play in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. As a 6’0, 175 pound defensive back with 4.5/40 speed, Jared brings a lot of good physical measures to the Warriors’ secondary. On film, he is physical and not afraid to lay the wood as a defender. Not only, is he physical, but he also does a great job of being around the football and breaking on it whether it is getting interceptions or pass deflections. Playing wide receiver also for the Warriors really helps him in that aspect. Jared has incredible upside considering this is his first every year playing football. In the weight room, he is pretty strong for his size bench pressing 250 pounds, power cleaning 200 pounds, and squatting 455 pounds. In the classroom, he has a 3.8 GPA and a 19 on his ACT. Like his four other teammates that have already committed, Jared is excited about the opportunity to play in the Gridiron Football All-American Game at the end of December.
“My first reaction to being invited to the bowl game was in shock. I was very surprised because this is my first year playing football and my accomplishments have succeeded my expectations.”Sophie B. Wright DB Jared Jones
