GF All-American Bowl Commit: Hunter Fontenot

Hunter Fontenot plays for the Ascension Episcopal Gators in Lafayette, LA. Hunter is a hard hitting linebacker in the 2023 class that has a 3.3 GPA and a 21 ACT score. Hunter has done an incredible job of transforming his body as he came from being only 5’10, 165 pounds last year to being 6’1, 210 pounds this season. Hunter plays with good range and can cover the field. Hunter has always been around the football as he had 91 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries last season. He makes good reads on the offense and is able to come up with that big play. That continues to even now as Hunter is having an incredible senior season. The senior team captain will look to cap off his senior season strong as one of Louisiana’s top linebackers when he plays in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game at the end of December.

“My first reaction when I got invited, I was so happy. I was so blessed to receive this opportunity. Playing in a bowl game like this is an amazing experience. I want to show my skills and that I can play with the best in the country.”
