The Dunham Tigers got a huge win over the road to continue their undefeated season against the St. Charles Catholic Comets by a final score of 20-15. It was revenge for the Tigers after the team lost to the Comets in the Division III Select State Championship Game back in 2022.
Headlined by the number one quarterback in the country for the Class of 2027, Elijah Haven led the Tigers to the win with 152 passing yards, a touchdown, an interception and also 49 yards rushing and another touchdown. Collin Pecue was also key for Neil Weiner’s squad with 74 yards rushing and a rushing touchdown to complete the scoring. To take the lead late in the contest, Haven found Trevor Haman for the go ahead 20-15 score.
The Comets started off strong by scoring on a 14 play, 71 yard drive that was capped off by a one yard touchdown run by Re’Shawn Helaire to give them an 8-0 lead and a 65 yard touchdown pass from Landree Leblanc to Jackson Doster to give the Comets a 15-8 lead, but left points on the board three times in the red zone with a missed field goal and a turnover on downs.
The Dunham Tigers improve to 3-0 and will have a huge undefeated matchup this Thursday against Ascension Catholic. On the other side, the St. Charles Catholic Comets fall to 0-2 to start the season and will look to get off the schneid against De La Salle on Friday.
