DITR : WR Kenzy West Hartfield High School ( Flowood, Mississippi)

Kenzy West a student athlete at Hartfield High School, is part of the class of 2025. Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 180 pounds, Kenzy’s versatility shines on both offense and defense. This season, he showcased his skills by catching 53 passes for 915 yards and 12 touchdowns. On film, Kenzy demonstrates his ability to make defenders miss with his elusiveness and find open paths to the endzone. His explosive speed allows him to leave defenders behind once he finds an opening, making him a threat on the field. But not only that, his offensive skill set translates well to his performance on defense. He managed to snag 4 interceptions along the way, showcasing his ability to make impactful plays on both sides of the ball.

What are some things you have overcome in life?

” When I was around 13 or 14 years old, I experienced a pelvic bone injury that resulted in a dislocation, but thankfully, through faith, I experienced healing from God.”

What are your biggest accomplishments?

” My biggest accomplishment was securing the school’s inaugural MAIS 6A State Championship title while also setting new records for all-time receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.”

What player do you compare yourself to and why?

” Jamar Chase – Because his ability to make big plays happen at times they are not expected and his ability to get deep balls. And for defense I would say Sauce Gardner because his ability to track the ball and stop big plays.”

What are your plans once you’re done with football and why?

” I want to coach is a goal of mine because I want to give back and support young athletes who are working hard to achieve their dreams of playing at the next level.”

What are some goals you have for yourself, and your team next season?

“ My Goals for myself is to become better than I was last season. The team goal is to repeat the same legacy that our Seniors left on the field: Like our motto says” Trust over Talent”…. There’s no I in team.. Our coaches has always told us to trust our brothers. So without them I would not be where I am today.”

What do you like about the sport of football and how is it significant to you?

“ I love football it’s just something about That adrenaline you get when you step on the field and you know you have a chance to play with your brothers. My parents told me they knew I was going to be a football player because I use to sleep with a football every night.”

What is an interesting fact about you outside of football?

” I am a country boy at heart. I love riding four wheelers and going to trail rides and mull pulls.”

What position do you enjoy playing the most and why?

” I love playing both of my positions I don’t have a favorite.”

What are some ways your coaches have helped you?

” My high school Coaches have help me in many different ways, they are the type of coaches that are really engaging in your life and actually care if you are doing the right or wrong thing.”

What colleges have you received any offers or interest from if any and what is your dream college to play for?

” I have received offers from several schools, including SU, Ole Miss, Liberty University, Arkansas State, LA Tech, South Alabama, Toledo, Akron, UAB, Southern Miss, Jax State, Samford University, Grambling, Jackson State, and Alcorn State. While I don’t have a specific dream school in mind, I am looking for a program that will help me develop both as a player and as a person.”
