Sam Williams is LB out of Lincoln Preparatory High. With a frame of 5’11, 215 pounds, Williams is a solid and consistent piece for his new team. Sam Williams goes out every week with a chip on his shoulder in order to make a name for himself. The senior LB runs a 4.8 40 yard dash and has a 2.8 GPA off the field, he’s consistently looking to improve on his on and off-field success. His best individual performance this season has been in a loss against Glennbrook, where he had 19 tackles in the first half. Sam Williams‘ next game will be this Friday, 11/1, against Plain Dealing!
When did you start playing football and what made you start playing?
“I started playing football at four and I started playing because I was infatuated with football when I was little.”
What do you love about football?
“What I love about football is that how much work you put in personally will show up on Friday nights. Whether it’s how much film you watch, or how often, and hard you workout on your own.”
What player, NFL or College did you model your game after?
“I modeled my game after Rodney Harrison, who played Safety for the Chargers and the Patriots.”
What would your teammates say about you?
“My teammates would say that I’m humble and committed.”
What is your motivation?
“My motivation is to prove to everyone that I’m not just a product of whom my dad is. That just because I grew up with a dad who played pro football and is a collegiate coach, that I can be my own player.”
What parts of your game are you working on right now?
“I need to work on my speed and getting off blocks.”
What is your goal for this season?
“My goal is to help my new team win as many games as we end up playing.”
What game or moment in the game has been your favorite up to this point?
“My favorite moment up to this point has just been my ability to mesh great with my new team.”
What do you do on your free time outside of school?
“On my free time I play a lot of video games and sleep.”
What is one thing that you think college coaches and recruiters should know about you?
“They should know that I work harder than just about anyone. Not just when it comes to on the field work and the weight room, that I am a true film junkie.”
What do you think your best trait is?
“That my knowledge of the game is unparalleled compared to anyone that is in my age bracket.”
