Diamond in the Rough: Roderick Tezeno

Roderick Tezeno is a phenomenal WR out of Opelousas Catholic High. With a frame of 6’3, 175 pounds, the junior wideout has consistently shown potential to be one of the best WRs in the nation. Roderick Tezeno currently has offers from schools such as University of Houston, Georgia Tech, Colorado State, and more. He finishes off his Junior regular season with 46 catches for 1047 yards, and 17 TDs. He also plays both ways for his team at DB and he has been selected as an All-State WR in Louisiana. Roderick Tezeno’s next game will be a playoff bout, this Friday(11/15) against Westminster Christain Academy!

When did you start playing football & what made you start playing?

“I really started playing football in 7th grade, my junior high team was in need of a receiver and I came to step up and play that position.”

What do you love about football?

“I love the energy that the game brings and the competitiveness during the games.”

What player, NFL or College did you model your game after?

“An NFL player that I like to model my game after is definitely Justin Jefferson.”

What would your teammates say about you?

“I think my teammates would say that I’m a good teammate,I always bring positive and good energy to the team, and obviously a dog.”

What parts of your game are you working on right now?

“Some parts of my game that I am working on is accelerating into my routes and being more aggressive.”

What is your goal for this season?

“My goal for this season is to make a good playoff run and prove all of the doubters wrong.”

What game or moment in the game has been your favorite up to this point?

“My favorite moment has to be my freshman year, in the playoffs, when i caught a momentum changing interception in the quarterfinals.”

What do you do on your free time outside of school?

“On my free time outside of school, I really just like to chill with my people and I might fish here and there.”

What is one thing that you think college coaches and recruiters should know about you?

“One thing I think college coaches should know about me is that I am a multi-sport athlete and that shows how good of an athlete I am.”

What do you think your best trait is?

“I think my best trait is my ability to beat DBs off the line and at the break of the route.”
