Diamond in the Rough: Logan Potter

Logan Potter is a 6’5, 290 pound class of 2022 Tackle out of Covington High School in Covington, LA. Logan possesses great size, speed (evident in his 5.0 40 time), and mobility at the tackle position. One of the strongest qualities shown by Logan is his ability to climb to the second level of defenses and block linebackers and cornerbacks on running and screen plays. I’m excited to watch Logan compete at this year’s bowl game. This guy can be a difference maker at the next level.

When did you start playing the game of football?

I was asked to play by pretty much all of my coaches my first day of freshman year in the gym.

What should College Coaches know about Logan Potter?

I have a good work ethic and I’m a good leader.

What are your biggest strengths on the football field?

I keep my head up when the game is not going our way. I do my best to help out the team. I play the game the right way by having fun.

You are committed to play in our bowl game. What are you looking forward to most as it approaches?

I’m looking forward to the experience. I’m excited to see how other athletes perform and play. I want to have fun playing in the game while seeing guys who I could potentially face in college.

Who/What are your biggest motivators for playing the game?

My grandmother and my dad. Those are the two who really push me to succeed. Without them, I probably wouldn’t have played or stayed with it if it wasn’t for them but I’m glad I did. Every game is for them.

Are there any players that you try to model your game after?

Willie Roaf. I study him because of his size and he played the same position I play. He’s big and quick on his feet and I try to do everything he does.

Tell me some valuable lessons that football has taught you that will remain with you going forward?

Anything can happen, anything can change. Winning, losing, injuries is all part of the game. You just have to give everything you’ve got and leave it all on the field.
