Diamond In The Rough: Ahmonte Watkins

Ahmonte Watkins is a 4-star running back recruit from Klein Forest High School. He is listed at 5’10’ 173lbs. Ahmonte is a beast on both sides of the ball; for the first few minutes of his film he shows how much of a ball-hawk he is at safety and then shows his amazing abilities at running back. This kid is exciting to watch, calling him a north and south runner would be a lie because he only goes north. He doesn’t just go forward, he constantly is a home run threat. It is amazing that he runs a 4.4 in the 40 and he looks faster than that on tape. Ahmonte does not get tackled in the open field, the defenders are lucky if they can get close enough to try. Unfortunately for opposing players, his cuts and juke moves are so quick and precise that they just don’t stand a chance. You can see the confidence oozing out of this kid through his film and I love it.
