D.I.T.R: Keenan Franks – RB

Keenan Franks is a 5’9″ 180 pound rising star in Mississippi high school football. A running back at Greene County High School in Leakesville, Mississippi, Franks has already established himself as one of the best players in his class. He has a natural talent for reading the game and finding gaps in the defense, allowing him to make big gains on every play. His ability to change direction quickly and maintain his speed is also a key strength, making him a difficult player to tackle. These skills have earned him a reputation as one of the most promising running backs in Mississippi, and the third-ranked player in his position in the class of 2024.

But Franks’ success on the field is not solely down to his physical abilities. He is also a dedicated and hardworking player who puts in long hours of practice to hone his skills. He is committed to his team and always puts in his best effort, whether it’s during training or during games. This dedication has earned him the respect of his coaches and teammates, who look up to him as a leader both on and off the field.

Q: To start off, could you tell us a little about yourself, where you grew up and such?

I live in Mississippi – from a small town called State Line, Mississippi. I have lived here my whole life.

Q: When did you start playing football?

I started playing football in the 4th grade, then tackle football from 11-12 years old since. My first position I played was quarterback. I played that from 4th grade until 9th grade, then coach moved me to running back and I have been playing that since.

Q: Do you play any sports other than football?

Yes sir, I played basketball my 9th grade year. I skipped out on it in 10th and 11th grade to try to focus more on football. I plan on returning to basketball my senior year in the summer.

Q: What is your favorite aspect about playing the running back position?

I just like getting the ball, having the ball in my hands. I want the ball at all times because I think I can do something with it and help the team out more. When the ball is in my hands I will be able to make a move and score.

Q: Is there someone that you look up to at the running back position, whether is it a collegiate player, professional, or someone lesser known?

I have an uncle at home, who played college football. His name is Marko Franks. I look up to him, and have been looking up to him my entire life. He played running back as well. He taught me how to be a leader and have heart. He also was not the biggest player on the field but he taught me that I can still have heart and make the same plays that the big players make.

Q: What strengths do you believe you have that makes you an impact athlete at the next level?

I am good at making a move, setting a block, doing all of the little stuff. Most people want to only focus on the big things instead of focusing on everything. I am a person that watches film nonstop and analyzes everything I am doing.

Q: How would your teammates describe you?

As a leader.

Q: What are you looking forward to this upcoming season, any specific goals for you?

I want to play at the next level. I have had a few coaches come by and talk to my but I just haven’t gotten a lot of feedback. I also want to go to the State Championship this year with my team. We made it to the playoffs last season and fell short, but I think we can do it coming up this next year.

Q: what Motivates you to get better as a football player?

My mom. Because I know she is a single parent, I just want to push myself so she does not have to be in the position she is in right now, working two jobs. I don’t like that for her so I want to get to the next level and get to the top so I can come back and help her.

Q: Is there someone who has helped you along the way, and has mentored you either in life or in football?

I would have to say my mother again, and my coaches. She really has done everything for me by pushing me, putting me on 7 on 7 teams, going to camps, taking visits. Her and my coaches have been there for me the entire time. It is all because of her.

No. 3 RB – Keenan Franks

Despite his obvious talent and skill, Franks has not yet received the attention from college coaches that he deserves. Keenan remains committed to his sport and to achieving his goals. He continues to work hard in practice, as understands that he may need to put in extra effort to get noticed by college coaches, and he is willing to do what it takes to make that happen. In conclusion, Keenan Franks is a talented athlete with exceptional speed, agility, and acceleration. He has the potential to play at the college level but will have one more season with the Greene County Wildcats, as he is in the class of 2024.
