D.I.T.R: Kade Arnold

Kade Arnold is a 6’4″ 290 pound Left Tackle for Centreville Academy, located in the small town of Centreville, Mississippi. Kade is a very talented lineman who generates great power and technique on every down. He comes off the ball with a quick reaction time, and has speed that allows for him to make crucial down blocks on run plays. His size and hand placement on passing downs allow his quarterback to stay in the pocket for an extended period of time, as Arnold is protecting his blind side. I was able to interview Kade about his football career so far and more:

Kade Arnold, no. 57 in the middle

Q: Tell me a bit about yourself first, Where did you grow up?

I grew up around Livingston Parish in Louisiana, we later moved and I played middle school football in Mississippi, then I have been playing ball at Centreville Academy since then.

Q: When did you start playing football?

I have actually been playing football for a long time. I started with the Galvez Tigers peewee team when I was about 8 years old. I’ve been playing ever since.

Q: Do you play any sports other than football?

I throw shock put and discus as well.

Q: What is one of the biggest challenged you’ve faced playing football, and how did you overcome that.

I would have to say one the the biggest challenges I’ve faced is following in my dads footsteps (Kade’s dad played football for LSU from 2003-2007), but I have new coaches that have helped me gain confidence and get better at my technique.

Q: What is your favorite part of playing Left tackle?

I can see everything from the position. I am taller than everyone so I am able to analyze everything in a play, even on passing plays. I enjoy being able to get physical every play and protecting my quarterback.

Q: What is something you have learned from football so far?

Nothing is going to come easy, at Centreville we have pretty hard practices, pretty old school. Nothing comes easy, gotta work hard for everything in life.

Q: Who do you idolize on the football field, could be a current or former player?

I wish more than anything to play like my dad, to meet the same expectations and play on the level he played at. He played on the offensive line as well so it is great learning from him.

Q: How would your teammates describe you?

I am more on the quiet side. I handle my business, calm everyone down and keep the team together.

Q: What strengths do you believe you have, that makes you a great athlete?

Having my dad coach me for 2 years helped a lot, but having the coaches now has extremely helped. Being able to work on foot movement and hand placement with excellent coaches. I have coaching that people really do wish they had.

Q: What sets you apart from other athletes on the field?

I’d have to say my willingness to work and to get better every day.

Do you have any dream colleges or colleges you could see yourself attending?

Obviously, LSU would be the biggest dream, being where dad went would be special. I would also have to say the Mississippi schools like Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Southern Miss.

no. 57 Kade Arnold

Arnold has the potential to be an impactful player at the next level with his size, strength, and speed for an offensive lineman. He is an extremely intelligent Left Tackle who grew up in a football family and has played most of his own life. Kade Arnold will be a 3rd year starting senior this upcoming fall at Centreville Academy, where he plans on showcasing his talent for all.
