Dutchtown High School (Geismar, La.) offensive lineman Chase Cangelosi has committed to play in the 2023 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl.
“I am honored to play in the Gridiron All-American Bowl” because it is a testament to all of the hard work I have done as well as to my coaches and fellow teammates who have helped me along my journey.”
The 6’6, 320-pound lineman was a member of the All-District team twice as the center for Dutchtown. Cangelosi helped lead the Griffins to an 11-2 record and their first semifinal appearance in school history. Although Dutchtown fell short in overtime to Zachary in the LHSAA Division I (Non-Select) Semifinals, his team’s run to the semifinals is something he will never forget.
“It was special to do something that has never been done with my friends and brothers. To be able to say that all of the hard work that we did during the summer showed on the field. It was also very honoring to be a team captain for the best team in my school’s history.”
Cangelosi models his game after Jason Kelce, the All-Pro center for the Philadelphia Eagles.
“I have always loved Jason Kelce. He is very technical and never misses games, which is very hard to do when you are at the level he is at.”
