Barton High School (Barton, AR) defensive back Dequincy Wilson has committed to play in the 2023 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game. Playing for the Bears, Wilson has been a standout player on both sides of the football. Whether it has been at running back or at defensive back, the 6’0, 190 pound Arkansas native has made a lot of highlight reel plays over his prep career.

After a junior season in which Wilson had 53 carries for 462 yards and six touchdowns plus 12 catches for 215 yards and two more touchdowns on offense along with 57 tackles, four interceptions, two forced fumbles, and a blocked punt on defense, Barton’s two way playmaker followed it up with an even better senior campaign. This past season, the All-Conference selection had 65 carries for 548 yards and eight touchdowns to go along with four catches for 76 yards and two touchdowns on offense plus 66 tackles, eight tackles for loss, five interceptions, a forced fumble, and a 97 yard pick six.
His ability to make plays with the ball in his hands on offense helps Wilson become a pick magnet on defense with nine interceptions in two years. However, he is still not afraid to lay the lumber as he models himself after John Gonzalez.
The ballhawk received offers from Northeastern State University and St. Andrews University while also receiving interest from Culver-Stockton College, Southern Virginia University, and Campbellsville University. Wilson will go a state over to play his final high school game as the only Arkansas native will play in the boot for the 2023 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game played at Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Saturday, December 30th.
