"Changing Lives, Improving Communities"

After yesterday’s loss to LSU, some Tide fans are at their wits end. Even going so far as to start an online petition on change.org to have the long-time head coach Nick Saban removed from his position. Greg Byrne started his petition Sunday afternoon and it has already garnered close to 400 signatures at the time of this posting.

“Enough is enough” the petition starts out.

“Saban can’t win the Iron Bowl. Can’t win the SEC West. Embarrassed in the national title game two years in a row. Alabama should have won a national championship every year since 2008.” The post continues. Then goes on to call out coach Saban on his coaching ability. “He’s not even a coach… He’s a PR guy. Kiffin and Smart were the ones calling the shots.”

The angry fan gives no credit to the previous decade plus of success that the Tide have had, but losing to LSU was clearly the last straw. The Tigers won the game yesterday 46-41 in Tuscaloosa, somewhere they have not won since the 2011 season. Alabama also had not lost a game in Bryant-Denny since the 2015 season.

The head coach that was able to turn around the program and has them in the hunt for the national title year in and year out, now MUST be ousted of his position because of a loss to an SEC West opponent. An opponent mind you, that had the athletes to compete, but not the offense to put points on the board. Now that the Tigers have that offense to not only score, but seemingly score at will, a rival head coach needs to go? Sounds like sour grapes to me. The Tide have been dethroned as SEC West champs seemingly this season. There is still a lot of football to be played, and as quarterback Joe Burrow will tell you, “we could easily lose some of these games coming up.”
