This year at LGF, we will be taking a look at the senior class of some Louisiana high schools and taking a look at their potential to play at the next level. Categories for each position are measured on a 1-10 scale, with 10 being well above average and 1 being well below average. We continue with the senior class of Southern Lab High school.

Good size. Helps in the run game and coverage is OK. Technique needs work. Future Outlook: D3 SS
Mitchell Turner, Jr. CB 6-0 178lbs
Playmaking corner that has a nose for the ball. Good in coverage. OK tackler. Decent speed. Uses his eyes to watch the QB instead of the receiver and it works at this level. Future Outlook: D2 CB
Ronnie Smith QB/TE 6-1 221lbs
Good pocket awareness. He’s able to manipulate the pocket. Strong arm. Long release that will need to be shortened. Also plays tight end. Decent blocker. Possession receiver with OK speed. Future Outlook: D2 TE/D3 QB

Damone Clark LB 6-3 220lbs
All-around LB who can play the pass and run. Great athlete who uses size and speed to play sideline to sideline. One of the top LB’s in the state. Future Outlook: D1 LB
Markus Martin OLB 6-2 221lbs
Rushes the passer and drops in coverage. Good play recognition. Decent tackler. Better against the run then dropping in coverage. Future Outlook: D2 OLB
