Give it up for the latest Rising Star, Kayson Song, from the class of 2031! Kayson put in the work at the Gridiron Elite Football Camp, located in Lake Charles, LA. Kayson has kept up with his school work, all while putting in the effort to practice his skills. At the camp, Kayson had a 5.85 on the shuttle run, a 6.44 40 yd dash, and a broad jump of 5′.4, he currently weighs 145 lbs and is 5’1. Kayson has previously won a couple of football awards, proving his skills can be put to the test.

What did you look forward to most at the camp?

“To get a faster 40 yd dash time.”

What was your favorite drill you had to do?

“The broad jump.”

Was there a specific drill you would have liked to have done?

“No, I liked the ones we did.”

What did you like about the camp?

“Learning different techniques and being able to get better, for a chance at scholarships.”

What drills do you think you performed well?

“The tire pull.”

What is your biggest strength?

“Running routes, for sure.”

Do you think you performed well overall?

“Yes, ma’am, I do.”

If you could have done something differently, what would it have been?

“Get a faster time on my 40 yd dash.”

Why did you choose this camp?

“Normally, I play flag football on Saturdays, so it lined up with my schedule. This was also close to me.”

Did you learn any important lessons at the camp?

“Yes, ma’am, to be explosive.”

Why do you like to play football?

“I like the physicality of it, and I use it to help regulate my emotions.”

If you could offer one piece of advice for future players participating in camps, what would it be?

“Don’t be nervous, just do your best.”
