Trace will be going into his senior season this upcoming fall and he is looking forward to improving his skill and getting noticed by college scouts!

Here’s my interview with Trace!

What do you like about your position?

I love the adrenaline rush I get whenever I walk out on the field and the amount of work that goes in for a few seconds of playing time per game

When did you start?

What made you want to get into football?

I did cross country for most of my life and I’ve always wanted to do football. I finally got the courage to ask my parents if I can do football and they didn’t want me in contact positions so I chose kicking, because I knew I had a strong leg

Describe your playing style?

Giving 100 percent for every kick, like even if its an extra point I’m still going to kick it as hard as I can just because I want to see how good I am for any kick instead of just the long ones

What are your goals for this upcoming season?

Get above a 50 yard punt in a game and have as many field goals as possible and to get noticed by as many colleges that I can, so I can have options

Do you have any offers?

I don’t have any offers or messages yet from any coaches

Who is your favorite player?

Brandon Aubrey because he kinda joined football late in his life and still became a pro. I feel like that sits with me cause I did the same thing in high school

What is your dream college to play for?

Probably LSU, I love the stadium and the energy the fans give off

What made you decide to come to Gridiron camps?

I saw a poster online and I sent it to my dad and he found one that was having a kicking event at it, and we set it up. A couple of my teammates went to the bowl game, so I thought it would be a good opportunity

How did getting an invite to the bowl game make you feel?

It felt good to get the invitation

How was your experience at the camp?

I feel like I got a lot better from when I went into the camp and I feel like it was mainly because it was a left footed kicker coaching me. It felt like he could coach me a lot better than all the other coaches I’ve been to

How did the camp help you?

It helped me with getting straighter and higher balls on my kick offs, punts, and place kicks

What are some strengths of yours?

Im really good in the mental part of football, like if I miss one kick I can flush it and move on it won’t effect how I play. I feel like I’m positive all the time in my opinion

Weaknesses that you want to improve on?

Probably the recovery part of doing all the athletic stuff I do

How was quitting cross-country?

It was pretty easy to let go, my coach wasn’t very happy with me but I love football

What is your favorite part about football?

The family on the team how close everybody usually is on football teams, and how easy friends I can make through these camps are. The overall fun of the sport, just going out to practice and games and having a good time
