5 Star 2024 OT Weston Davis Flips His Commitment To LSU

There were a lot of questions on when and if LSU was going to grab a five star from the 2024 class, and they finally got one by actually flipping a one-time Texas A&M commitment in United High School (Beaumont, TX) OT Weston Davis. The talented offensive tackle prospect is ranked as a five star by On3 as the number 18 overall player in the country, the number three tackle prospect in the country, and the number four overall prospect in the state of Texas.

At 6’6, 280 pounds, Davis has the athletic frame and build to become a very impressive offensive tackle on the edge with a high ceiling to add weight to that frame. He is also raw as being a basketball player for one of the nation’s top basketball programs in Beaumont United, Davis is still new to the game after only having ever played 22 games in his football career.

In terms of raw talent and tremendous upside, Davis may have the most in the Tigers’ recruiting class as his 6’6 frame, 35-inch arms, light feet, and flexibility made him a big get for offensive line coach Brad Davis.

The two-sport athlete was originally committed to Texas A&M on June 26th, but made a surprising move to flip his commitment to the Tigers. Although LSU has had a bye week, the Tigers’ coaching staff certainly did not take off the week in recruiting as this is their third commitment just this week joining cornerbacks PJ Woodland and Bernard Causey.

Also, this is the second time this month that the Tigers got a recruit to make a flip as former Georgia Tech commit CJ Jackson.

With this commitment, it marks the 26th commitment for the LSU Tigers’ 2024 class that has made a jump in the rankings inside the top ten nationally. LSU has moved up to 9th according to 247 while they have also moved up to number seven according to On3.
