Tulane Gains Victory Over Tulsa

The Tulane Green waves traveled to Chapman Stadium this weekend, to go against the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes. Looking for a victory, the Green Waves got just it in what came down to the fourth quarter of the game. Leaving the score 24-17, Tulane’s offense played well against the opponents defense and this lead to the teams victory. The team had a total of 404 yards during this game and passed for a total of 92 yards. This is the team’s first away win of the season, and their first win against Tusla.

Quarterback Justin McMillan started this game this evening and helped the Green Wave put points on the scoreboard early. Justin passed for a total of 92 yards and rushed for 75 yards and also had 2 rushing touchdowns. Also doing well on the offense side this during the game was Running back Darius Bradwell, rushing for a total of 76 yards and also scoring a rushing touchdown for the Green Waves. The top rusher for the game tonight was Running Back Corey Dauphine with a game high of 107 yards. The Wave were able to attack well offensively and that momentum carried on throughout the entire game. On the defensive side of the ball the Green Waves held Tulsa to a 315 total offense. Tulane also  finished with 2 sacks this game. Roderic Teamer Jr, was a big leader for the team tonight with 10 tackles and 8 of those tackles were solo. While both his teammates Lawrence Graham and Cameron Sample both had a total of six tackles.

As the clock ran down the game was tied and both teams were challenged during the fourth quarter. Tulsa faced a rough fourth and 1 as they fumbled the ball and gave Green Wave the ball. Which allowed QB McMillan to score the winning TD for the night. Tulsa played well offensively but ran into a few mistakes, which costed them the game. Next weekend the Green wave will be playing November 3 and traveling to Tampa, Florida to play against USF. The Green wave will be looking to add another victory to the list.
