Tulane Football’s Parry Nickerson Named Allstate AFCA Good Works Team Nominee

NORTHBROOK, Ill. – Tulane football senior cornerback Parry Nickerson was named among the 146 nominees for the 2017 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®, one of the most prestigious off-the-field honors in college football, by the Allstate Insurance Company and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).

Nickerson, a second-team All-American Athletic Conference and Louisiana Sports Writers Association All-Louisiana selection a year ago, enters his senior season with 133 total tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries (including one for a touchdown), one blocked field goal, 22 pass breakups and 10 interceptions (including one returned for a touchdown) to his credit. Off the field, the Algiers, La., native was a member of Tulane’s 3.0 Club in Fall 2016. Active in the community, Nickerson has visited patients at Tulane Children’s Hospital and participated in kids’ skills camps for Special Olympics Louisiana and New Orleans Recreation Development Commission.

The 2017 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® will consist of a 22-player roster comprised of 11 players from the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision and 11 players from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision, Divisions II, III and the NAIA. A special voting panel consisting of former Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® members and prominent college football media members will unveil the team in September from the initial list of 146 nominees.
