Three Catholic High School Bears Get Invited To 2023 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game

Last week, I went to Catholic High School and surprised three of their players to play in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be played in Orange Beach, Alabama at the end of the season.

The Catholic High School Bears are one of the top football programs in the state of Louisiana so it comes with no surprise that a lot of their players get invited to play in the prestigious bowl game. Those three players are running back Barry Remo, defensive lineman Blair Rousseau, and defensive back Jaylon Wood. All three were certainly surprised when they heard the news.

“It’s a great opportunity. I appreciate the opportunity and I can’t wait to show off my talents.”

“It’s just a blessing. I didn’t know this was coming, but I am ready to get to work and see what it is all about.”

“I didn’t see this coming. It’s a honor, a blessing, and I am very thankful for it.”

Two of the three have already attended our Gridiron Football Elite Camps earlier this year in Blair Rousseau and Jaylon Wood. Both put on great performances at the camp and were pleased with the work they put in at the offseason camps.

“It was great to show off my talents and to show what I could do.”

“It was pretty good. I didn’t think my 40 was where I wanted it to be, but I had a great time.”

Meanwhile, Remo is continuing the strong running back tradition alive at Catholic High School after having such a great junior season rushing for 1,300 yards and over 13 touchdowns. After establishing himself as the go to back last season, Remo is ready to take the next step in 2023.

“I just try to turn off all the media and distractions and get to work. I let my performance talk.”

Before these three players can even try to focus on the bowl game, they have their eyes set on the upcoming season trying to lead the Bears to a state championship.

“My goals for this senior season is to take it up a notch, do what we supposed to do, play as a team, and show people what we can do.”

“I want to be more of a leader this year than last year. Last year, we had Judd Rouyea and Josh Johnson. I just want to be a leader for the defensive line this year.”

Catholic High School DL Blair Rousseau

“I am not really worried about the stats. I just want to let my performance do that. I just want to help lead my team to a state championship and make sure that the seniors get a ring.”

These three players have the opportunity to play in the Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game, which will be played on the last week of December in Orange Beach, Alabama.
