Southeastern Remains #3

Southeastern proved again why they are number 3 in the polls Saturday Night in Hammond. Southeastern got the win against Southern Utah, beating them 41 to 14. Southeastern had complete control throughout the whole game. Even when the game seemed close, Southeastern made the plays both on defensive and offense in order to pull away. On the first play of the game, senior LB Drew Misita made a great interception and returned it 10 yards for the first touchdown of the game. You know your team is in for a good game when the first play of the game turns out like that for your defense. Senior QB Bryan Bennet had a good game throwing for two TDs and also providing a TD on the ground. QB Bryan Bennet did have one interception that led to a Southern Utah TD, but that did not rattle him in the least bit leading his team to victory. Bennet had a 38-yard touchdown pass to senior WR Devonte Scott, and a 33-yard touchdown pass to senior WR Chris Malott.

The Southeastern defense was very successful holding the Southern Utah offense to only 14 points. The QB for Southern Utah was Aaron Cantu, and he was 21-33 for 224 yards and only one touchdown. The Southeastern defense stepped up their game and came out with 3 interceptions with 1 returned for a touchdown. Overall Southeastern fans have a lot to look forward to this season. In the first two games of the season Bennet has already accounted for 6 TDs and there is not an end in sight. The Southeastern Lions have a long road ahead of them, but if they keep playing the way they have been playing over the first two games of the season they will remain on top the whole way.
