Randalls To Coach In 2019 LGF All-Star Bowl Game

The 2019 Louisiana Gridiron Football (LGF) All-Star Bowl will take place on December 28th at Louisiana College Wildcat Stadium. Gates will open at 3 pm and the game will start at 5pm. Head coaches for this years game are none other than Eric Randall, head coach of Baker High, and Marcus Randall , head coach of Woodlawn of Baton Rouge.

Eric and Marcus Randall are brothers that grew up in Baton Rouge and have both agreed to be opposing head coaches in the 2019 LGF All-Star Bowl game.

Eric Randall, the elder of the two brothers, was a highly recruited prospect out of Glen Oaks High school. Receiving offers to play college football at schools like Georgia, Ohio State, Southern Miss, and many more. His father had just past away and with his younger brother at home, he decided to put his family first and stay home and go to Southern University in Baton Rouge. While it may have seamed at the time a bad decision, Eric lead his team to multiple SWAC Championships and a National Championship in 1995. Randall competed with legendary QB, Steve McNair, as the best QB in the SAWC at the tame. While attending Southern, Eric mentored his younger brother and coached him.

With the help of his older brother, Marcus became a standout at QB at Glen Oaks High School. Marcus, like his older brother, became a highly sought after prospect gaining offers from Auburn, LSU, and more. LSU was not his first choice at the time since he did not agree with Gerry DiNardo style of football. But in 2000 when Nick Saban was hired as LSU’s new head coach, Saban was able to swing Marcus away from going to Auburn University and play football for the real Tigers of LSU. While at LSU Marcus had a good career and made one of the greatest plays in LSU history known as the Blue Grass Miracle. https://www.secsports.com/video/14090935/lsu-wins-bluegrass-miracle

Now that the brothers are grown, Eric feels that he made the right decision to stay and be a positive male role-model for his brother. Through all of Marcus’ successes and failures, his older brother Eric has been there to guide him along the way. Marcus went on to play six seasons in the NFL before coming home to coach football like his brother Eric. Marcus is currently the head coach of Woodlawn in Baton Rouge and Eric is the head coach of Baker High School.

I am blessed that I have had the privilege to get to know these two brothers and be able to call them friends. Thus why I asked them both to coach in this years game. I felt with their leadership, the young men that will be playing in the game will have two of the best role models to look up to for advice.

I asked them both who was going to win this years game and they both answered and said that the kids will. The trophy for the head coach will reside in their mothers home in her trophy cabinet. Eric and Marcus, both are excited to mentor and coach in this years game.

We hope to see you at this years game. Visit www.LouisianaGridironFootball.com/ for more information and the full roster.
