This morning, East Ascension High School four star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez announced his college commitment to LSU.
”I want to thank LSU for allowing me to continue my academic and athletic career in their hands and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. My dream has come true.”

This was a massive get for the 2026 class in more ways than one as the 6’6, 290 pound tackle is a top 10 offensive tackle in the country and a top five player in the state of Louisiana.
So far, LSU’s 2026 class has been dominated by the state of Louisiana with all six current commitments coming from the boot. Martinez joins Edna Karr DT Richard Anderson, Edna Karr S Aiden Hall, McDonogh 35 ATH Jakai Anderson, Warren Easton OL Jalan Chapman, and Airline WR Kenny Darby in the class.
The Gonzales native decided to stay in state and choose the Tigers over the likes of other SEC heavyweights including Alabama, Texas A&M, and Georgia.
Martinez has the prototypical size and athleticism to project as a tackle at the next level, and according to his head coach Brock Matherne, he also has the other tools necessary to become a big time contributor at the next level.
“Brysten is a great kid. He is a yes sir, no sir type of kid. He gets a lot of attention, but he is a quiet kid. He just wants to work and play ball. He’s been really great for our program and is a part of anything that we want to do. He shows up to everything for after school workouts and is just a special talent. The thing that I think he does the best at is the way he works and brings the other offensive linemen along with him. We are excited about his future and glad that I get him for the next two years.”
