DITR: OL Syler Green, Independence High School (Thompson’s Station, TN)

Syler Green is a 6’3, 275lb. Offensive Lineman who plays for the 6A Independence Eagles in Thompson’s Station, Tennessee. Syler also earned the starting role of Left Tackle and has been in every offensive snap this season. When it comes to being a student-athlete, Syler is impressive in both the classroom and on the field. Syler has a 4.11 GPA and has been Offensive Line MVP in May of 2023 as well as Top Offensive Tackle in 2026 and Top 5 Offensive Line in December 2022. All around, Syler is a very interesting student-athlete to keep an eye on.

What are some things you have overcome in life?

Some things I have overcome in life are that I was never athletic growing up and had to work to gain athleticism.

What are your biggest accomplishments?

My biggest accomplishment was starting at left tackle for a 6A football team becoming all region runner up and then earning my first Division 1 offer.

What player do you compare yourself to and why?

I compare myself to Trent Williams because he is my favorite NFL player and I strive to be like him one day.

What do you like about the sport of football and how is it significant to you?

Football is significant to me because I grew up playing and watching it with my dad.

What colleges have you received any interest from if any and what is your dream college to play for?

I have received one offer from EKU and have visited UWASH and many more visits and camps scheduled.

What are your goals/new things you want to accomplish for this upcoming season?

My goal is to play at 285 pounds next season and continue to add muscle weight throughout high school. I am also working with both King Dunlap and Coach Jeremy Byrd to build up my strength, agility, speed, and footwork.
