DITR-Lucas Barrientes (Midland, TX)

Lucas Barrientes is a 6’3″ 270 lbs offensive tackle for the Legacy Rebels in Midland, Texas. Lucas is in the class of 2024, and has a 3.55 GPA. Playing at right tackle for the Rebels, Lucas plays a key role for the offense. Having the ability to get to the second and third levels, Lucas is not afraid to pancake his opponents. In the run game, he has the speed to pull and create lanes for his running back. In the pass game, he will not get the defender sack his quarterback, showing off his physicality. What is your favorite thing about playing football?

To hit people. Knocking them down, and putting them on their butts

Family. The family tradition we had at Legacy is like no other

What has been your favorite football memory?

Playing in the playoffs my sophomore year. Got to put some people on our butts and protecting Marcos [Davila] as well

Powerlift, and jiu jitsu

No one. I just play like myself

My father

How do you balance school and football?

In the mornings, I focus on my lifts then my schoolwork. During the day, it just straight schoolwork. Once the school day is done, I shift my focus to football

How do you prepare for a game?

Working on my footwork every day. I keep my cool, and keep my mind sharp so I will be ready when it is game time
