The 1-on-1 interview with Datrayvain Nash delivers his mental aspect to the game and his planned goals for the upcoming season:

When did you begin playing football and why are you so passionate about playing this sport?

I started playing football when I was around 10 years old. My original sport was basketball and then football just naturally became my sport overtime.

What are some of your strengths that set you apart as a standout athlete? What do you bring to the table?

I would say my speed, being a team leader, and honestly being a very physical player.

What do you believe to be one of your weaknesses and what are you doing to improve it?

I would say my footwork, but every day I’m getting in personal 1-on-1 workouts and drills to improve that.

Which NFL player or coach serves as a role model to you?

Sauce Gardner and Tom Brady. Gardner serves as a role model because he plays my same position and I like his playing style. Tom Brady gives me the motivation to win.

How would you describe your work ethic?

I’m a hard worker and especially since I am still young, the goal is to just keep working harder.

Describe a time when you had to make a difficult decision during your early stages of your football career.

At first, I used to play offense as the Quarterback and once I grew and gained height, they moved me to corner. The transition was hard at first, but I really started paying attention to technique on the defense and just became physical. I enjoy the defensive side now as I get more recognized playing at Cornerback.

How do you handle criticism or feedback from coaches and teammates as a team player?

I just listen and follow through with what they tell me to make me an overall better person and better player.

What are your dream schools and what will they get out of you as a player and young man?

My dream schools are Southern, Texas, UL, and LSU. They would get a team player out of me who works hard and really likes to ball. I bring leadership to a program where if I see heads down, I tell them lift it up and keep their head in the game and continue working hard.

What serves as your daily motivation to get up and work hard every single day?

Really just making it out.

What is your favorite accomplishment or football memory thus far in your career?

A memory that has stuck with me was when we went to round 3 in the Playoffs against Union Parish.

What does your offseason look like? What are you doing every day to get stronger?

Working out, getting in the weight room, and working out with my personal trainer.

Tell me how the CB position ended up suiting your athleticism perfectly.

At quarterback I really just ran the ball, but on defense when I tackle people it just turns me up for real.

How do you manage being a student athlete?

Being a student-athlete is important. Keeping your grades up is more important than playing ball and doing good in the classroom before getting on the field.

What is your preferred pre-game, locker room and post-game routines?

I put on music and get hyped from music, take pre-workout, and eat a good pre-game meal.

What are some short-term and long-term goals you have for the upcoming season?

For the upcoming season, I plan on at least getting 3 interceptions and try to lead and set the bar high. As of long-term goals, I see myself going to a good college and making it to the league.
