DITR : ATH Donovan Robinson Loyola Academy (Wilmette , Illinois)

Donovan Robinson ,a standout player at Loyola Academy, has made a significant impact on the football field as part of the class of 2025. Standing at 6’3″ and weighing 210 pounds, Donovan’s athleticism and skill set have been evident throughout the season. On defense, Donovan has been a force to be reckoned with, recording 1 pick-six, 34 tackles, and 4 pass deflections. His ability to read the game and make crucial plays has been critical in shutting down opposing offenses. Additionally, on special teams, Donovan has showcased his versatility by blocking a field goal and returning a punt for a touchdown, highlighting his athleticism and playmaking abilities. One of Donovan’s standout qualities is his exceptional ability to track the football, whether intercepting passes or disrupting plays. His contributions is one of many that help pave the way to make Loyola state champs this year.

What are some things you have overcome in life?

” Overcoming the loss of my grandmother was a significant challenge in my life. It marked the first time I experienced the passing of a beloved family member whom I talked with daily and deeply admired.”

What are your biggest accomplishments?

“Some of my biggest accomplishments have been being able to be a successful student in the classroom and being able to win the state championship 2 times.”

What player do you compare yourself to and why?

“I would compare myself to Jalen Hurts. Although we don’t play the same position I feel like our mindset towards the game of football that we have is very similar and it shows on the field.”

What are your plans once you’re done with football and why?

“My plans after football are to hopefully be able to coach or be a sports agent. I would love to still be able to stay Involved with sports and be able to continue to learn.”

What are some goals you have for yourself, and your team next season?

“Personally, I aim to be the best teammate I can be and help lead my team to another state championship.Our team goal is simply to secure another state championship.”

What do you like about the sport of football and how is it significant to you?

“Something I like about football is that it’s a get away from everything and I love the energy and the excitement it brings.”

What is an interesting fact about you outside of football?

” An interesting fact about me is that I love to sit at home and meditate. I love freeing my mind and being able to put stuff to the side and just think.”

What is your dream school?

” I guess I could say my dream school is Ohio state.”

What position do you enjoy playing the most and why?

“I don’t actually have a favorite position on the field but if I had to choose I would say safety. It’s cool being able to see the whole field and make plays back there. “

What are some ways your coaches have helped you?

” My coaches had helped me significantly. My coaches have not only helped me with football but have helped me become a man outside the game. They show me support and wish nothing but the best for me, constantly pushing me and getting on me to be better. Teaching me new positions and I really appreciate the time that they have put into me.”

What colleges have you received any offers or interest from if any and what is your dream college to play for?

“I have received offers from Western Michigan, Kent state, Toledo, Northern Illinois, Bowling green, Illinois state, Akron, Ball state, Virginia, Iowa state, Arizona, Colorado state, Wyoming and Army. I’ve also received interest from Minnesota, Ohio state, Washington, Michigan state, Illinois, Nebraska, Michigan, Boston college, Vanderbilt, Missouri.”
