Diamond in the Rough: Theodore Tyler, De La Salle High School

Theodore Tyler, is a senior at De La Salle High School in New Orleans, LA. He is a defensive end player and he loves whenever he can get the chance to sack the quarterback. Theodore is a very aggressive player and loves to play on defense. He works hard at practice and he believes that his hard work will take him to where he wants to be in the future. Since he was ten years old Theodore has been focused on advancing his skills in football. With 10 sacks during his junior season his goal is to take one game at a time and continue to help his team get to the State Championship.

At what age did you start playing football?

I started playing football at the age of ten.

 

Who inspires you?

My dad is one of my biggest inspirations, I grew up watching him play. Watching him play has always kept me motivated and one day I will make it to the pros like he did.

 

Did you play any other sports?

I did play basketball,  but I decided to put all my focus into football.

 

What is your favorite play?

Sacking the quarterback, when you make that play you feel like you didn’t let yourself down and you didn’t let your team down.

 

What would your teammates say about you?

My teammates would say that I am a hard worker, and that I am a very physical player out there on the field.

 

What are some of your biggest accomplishments?

One of my biggest accomplishments last year was getting 10 sacks.

 

What are your team goals for this season?

The main goal is helping my team get to the state championship. We want to take each game step by step and get better every day at practice.

 

Can you tell me some of your strengths?

I can motivate my teammates, and I do my best to go 110% on each play and I am always focused.
