Diamond in the Rough: Mark Coppola

Mark Coppola is a 6’1 225lbs pass rushing outside linebacker and defensive end at ULAB in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. When did you become introduced to the game of football?

I believe I was seven years old; it was when I started playing football is when I began to fall in love with it and it was something I knew that I wanted to do continuing to play as long as I could.

What style of play best describes you?

I am a physical player; I like the physicality of the game.

What is your most memorable game?

This past year in the state championship game it was definitely one to remember winning our second state championship in a row getting to play for my high school team for the last time and going out against a good team in St. Thomas Moore.

What areas of your game have you been working on trying to improve?

Moving sideline to sideline and my lateral burst is something that I am trying to develop the most right now. Overall my lateral acceleration is an area that I am working on.

What colleges are you interested in going to?

I am extremely interested in military services. I am really interested in trying to get into any service academy trying to recruit me. There is also some schools from the south that have showed interest so I have some pretty good options.

What did you think about the Louisiana Gridiron Football bowl game you played in recently?

It was great it definitely exceeded all of my expectations that I previously had for it. It was a great time I had a whole lot of fun, the location of the game was great especially with how accessible it was for people all over Louisiana.
