Diamond in the Rough: Larry Williams III

Larry Williams III is an Offensive Tackle from Franklinton, Louisiana in the 2020 class. He is a senior coming in at a whopping 6’ 5” and 260 pounds.  This tackle also wears two jerseys so that he can play tight end sometimes.  He is a competitive guy who wants to grind every day.

At what age did you start playing football? Why did you start playing?

I think I started around 8 years old.  I started playing when I moved from Missouri after my parents had split up.  I wanted to get things off my mind and football did that for me.

What is your favorite part of the sport?

I believe the physicality of the game is my favorite part.  There is no other sport like it and the fact you can go out there and bust somebodies head every play is awesome.

What goals do you have for yourself this season?

Ultimately, the biggest goal for me is the for the team and I to go to the State Championship.  But I smaller goals for the season as well.  I have smaller goals for myself every game.  Those goals are to win the next game and win the next snap.

How would you describe yourself as a player?

I feel like I am a serious player, but at the same time I can also joke when the time comes.  I would say I am the emotion of the team and one of the biggest leaders on the team.

What are your favorite things outside of football?

 Well I also play basketball but, on the weekends, I like to go out and go bowling.

What do you see for yourself in the future?

I see myself moving out and going back to Missouri. I want to become a pharmacist and have a family.  I want to conduct myself as a man and with Godly nature.
