Diamond in the Rough: Albert J Gillie Jr “AJ”

 

Albert J Gillie Jr also called “AJ” is a 6’3 295lbs versatile offensive lineman that can ply both tackle and guard. AJ is an excellent student athlete with a 3.5 GPA with a 21 ACT score. AJ can bench press 305, squat 605 and cling 315.

When did you become introduced to the game of football?

I was about ten years old playing for the recreational league.

What is something you have learned while playing football?

My mental toughness and how much I can take, football has taught me that I can take more than I originally taught I could.

Do you have any role models?

My role models are Michael Oher and Cam Robinson.

What are some of your achievements while playing football?

Im a three year first team all district and I’ve been starting since I was a freshman and I have gotten most outstanding player from my team.

Do you play any other sports?

I powerlift and throw for track.

What is a part of your game that you are trying to improve?

My footwork, you can never have too much footwork, you always got to have good feet.

What would you like major in while in college?

I would like to major in biology because I wan to be a vet.

What did you think about the Louisiana Gridiron Football bowl game you played in recently?

I enjoyed the bowl game I met a lot of new people and play against some new people were better than what I would usually go up against.
