D.I.T.R: Jamari Mosley

Jamari Mosley is a class of 2024 Cornerback who plays for the Spain Park Jaguars in Hoover, Alabama. Jamari is elite in pass coverage. A lot of his highlights show him covering the number one receiver of the best schools in Alabama. Jamari comes up with a good number of interceptions for this level of competition. Jamari is definitely not afraid of making big time tackles. Most of his highlights are him breaking to tackle a receiver or running back our of the backfield. Lastly, Jamari excels on special teams as a return man as well. It is not unlikely that Jamari take a kickoff or punt for a long return anytime that he gets a chance. Jamari will be looking to improve his game by working hard this summer and spring and hopefully helping his team win a state championship. Jamari is a very under recruited athlete who has the potential to play football at the next level. Hopefully he can grab more offers during next year’s campaign. Check out our Q&A below!

Can you tell us your name and position on the football team?

Jamari Mosley, Cornerback.

What made you decide to play football in high school?

I have been playing ever since 4th grade and made my mom sign me up for football all by myself.

What are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced on the field?

Trying my best to go on to the next play. A lot of people get down when they mess up on a play and I struggled with this as a sophomore, starting on varsity.

How do you motivate yourself when things get tough during a game?

I think about my mom and all the people who came to watch me play. I also do not want to let my teammates down so I must always try my hardest.

What do you think sets you apart from other players on your team?

Most people say my athletic ability sets me apart, but I think that my work ethic sets me apart from a lot of people on my team.

Can you talk about a moment in your football career that you’re particularly proud of?

In 4th grade when I called to sign myself up for football at a young age was the best decision of my life. If I did not do that then I don’t think I would be playing football today.

How do you handle the pressure of being an important player on the team?

As a leader on the team, you tend to embrace the challenge and with a challenge comes pressure. My parents help me as a support system with this as well.

How do you balance football and your academic studies?

That is exactly what I have been working on recently. School and grades always come first, and when I have time away from school then I like to shift my focus towards football.

What have you learned about teamwork through playing football?

Teamwork creates chemistry and communication, two things that you need to win. Outside of the sport, the guys on your team are there for camaraderie and you can always build on this outside of the field.

Can you describe your pre-game ritual or superstitions?

My music hypes me up and puts me in a certain atmosphere before the game. Our pregame intensity sets us apart from other schools.

Who is your biggest inspiration or role model in the sport of football?

I would say players like Jalen Ramsey and Sauce Gardner are two athletes who I like to model my game after a lot.

How do you stay physically and mentally prepared for each game?

Mentally, I try to stay focused on my job and what I can do to help the team. Physically, everyday Coach Vakakes has us in the weight room working hard daily, and I feel like we may be the hardest working team in Alabama.

What are your goals for the future, both on and off the field?

I definitely want to make it to the NFL. I want to leave a reputation and legacy on this earth that will help my descendants live a better life when I am gone.

What advice would you give to young aspiring football players?

Keep following your dreams and never give up. No matter what you want to do you should always follow your dreams because you never know where you might end up.

What do you hope to achieve with your football career in the future?

I hope to be the best of the best and I wish to be an inspiration for kids and help my community in the best way possible.
