The 6’0, 260 pound senior team captain has been part of the emergence of the Bunkie Panthers football program that went 9-2 last year and hosted a playoff game last year. With another year left to go, Smith has already become one of the most productive players in school history. Over his prep career, he has been a two time All-District selection including 1st Team All-District last year, a 1st Team All-Parish selection, a Coaches Award winner, and a All-State Honorable Mention selection.

Not to mention, he is also setting program records in the weight room as he squatted a school record 560 pound max a month ago. Smith has incredible strength and has a tremendously high IQ not only on the field, but in the classroom as this honor student has a 5.0 weighted GPA with a 25 ACT score.

Smith is focused on helping lead the Panthers to their best season yet, but at the end of the year, he will have a chance to play one more high school game at the sixth annual Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at Memorial Stadium. As of now, Smith has received a college offer from Millsaps College, but is looking to show more of what he has to offer in front of college coaches.

“It is going to be great to come out and show what I got out there at a big stage like that. It is certainly a good feeling.”
