BREAKING NEWS: Slidell High School (Slidell, LA) OL Riggs Knight Commits To The Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game

Slidell High School (Slidell, LA) offensive lineman Riggs Knight is the third Tiger to play in the 2023 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game joining his teammates Jalen Anderson and Dwayne Mills. All three players were invited to take part in the bowl game at the beginning of the season at our Gridiron Football Media Day and did not disappoint with great senior seasons. Anchoring the Tigers’ offensive line at center, Knight was an All-District Honorable Mention his junior and senior year.

At 6’1, 275 pounds, Knight is a prototypical center as he is mean, nasty, and not afraid to pancake defensive linemen. He also has good quickness for his size with 5.2/40 speed and has good lower man strength as he can bench press 325 pounds, squat 400 pounds, and can power clean 225 pounds. Those are certainly all great qualities to have as he models his playing style after the best center in the game in Jason Kelce from the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Slidell offensive lineman has not received any college offers yet, but his standout play throughout his high school career has given him an opportunity to play in the upcoming 2023 Gridiron Football All-American Bowl Game that will take place on Saturday, December 30th at Memorial Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

“I am honored to participate in the Gridiron Bowl, and so excited to have my family and friends present to watch me play again.”

When Riggs Knight goes to college, he would like to work in sports medicine and help young athletes. What is most incredible about his story is that he has overcome dyslexia to get to this point. He would certainly love to be an advocate for students and help their struggle with reading issues after his playing days are over.
