“When the time is right, the Lord will make it happen.” – L.Bissel
Landon is currently a Senior at Slidell as well as a two-time First Team All-District player. He was also recognized as his team’s Most Improved Player in his Junior season. “So what?” you may say, but this is a major green flag! Some athletes get to their Junior and Senior seasons and believe that they “know it all”- not Landon. Landon is driven and teachable; always going the extra mile for himself and his teammates. For Landon, football is not just a game; it is a whole different world, an escape. A place where he can learn more every practice and game, living in a pursuit of constant improvement. His passion and heart are shown greatly on the field, but it also extends to his teammates, family, and friends. If you want a player who’s got grit, discipline, and heart, Landon Bissel is your guy!

Q & A
What was a take away you gained from your experience attending the Bowl Game?
I need to work ten times harder at all times. Success depends on more than genetics.
Why did you choose football?
When I was little, my mom and dad would walk me by the park and I always saw people playing. When my parents asked me if I wanted to play basketball or football and I chose football. From then on, I fell in love with the game.
What keeps you going?
My family, but mostly my mom. Just watching her my whole life and seeing how hard she’s worked and knowing what she’s been through. I do it all for her.
What does football mean to you?
Everything.
Where do you think you have improved the most?
I’ve seen my drive and discipline improve a lot. I really push myself to go the extra mile.
Who is Landon? What makes you different from other players?
I’ve got a big heart. I really care about my family and my team. I would say I am a big team player. I always finish what I start.
What is your favorite position to play and why?
Probably Guard; I like pullin’.
