Entering the 2024 season, Arcadia HS has appointed a familiar face, moving up from assistant coach, Taylor Perron as the new head coach to lead the team this year. Stepping into his new position, after being on the school’s staff for 4 years, Coach Perron looks to improve on last year’s performance with the team going 7-4, and losing in the first round of the playoffs. His focus is doing this by improving upon the simple things and developing new players in the program.
The biggest thing with me is just understanding the assingments, playing fast, attacking the ball in the air, and attacking the ball carrier.

Coach Perron is excited about the return of some of their best players and seeing them elevate to new heights this season. Joseph Salvaterra is playing 3 positions for the Hornets this season, so oppenents will be seeing a lot of him over the course of the year. Playing center, defensive end, and middle linebacker will give him extra opportunities to impact the game. With talent at the RB, QB, and WR position, their offense is set to put up some good numbers this season as well once they get the ball rolling.
I have my quarterback coming back Rodtravious Jackson, going to be a senior this year. He really stepped up a lot last year and earned a lot of my trust, so I plan on putting the ball in his hands a lot more this year.

WR/CB Darrell Sneed Jr. is a senior entering his 3rd season on the Varsity squad. He played 7 games his sophmore year and made some very noteable plays during his 9 games played during his junior year. He will be one of the team’s best players on both sides of the ball. He totaled 17 tackles and 1 interception for a TD last season, while also adding some highlight catches on offense. He actually enjoys playing at the wide receiver position more so hopefully during his final season, he is able to showcase his talents on the offensive side of the field.
Coach Perron looks ahead to some of the season’s biggest games and how he is excited to produce a different result of some bitter rivalries that have formed over the past few years that he has been on the staff at Arcadia. He also looks to make a splash and take down some big-time opponents who may look at Arcadia as one of the sleeper games on their schedules.
We do play Southwood, so that’s going to be a step up in competition just because you know they are a 5-A school. We play them Week 2. Really looking forward to the Haynesville game. You know they have been tearing us up these last few years since I’ve been here, so really aiming to put our best on the field for that game. And then week 10, with our big rivalry, we play Lincoln Prep, so that’s going to be packed out. So I’m just excited for it all man.
