Here’s my interview with Tyrell Johnson!

Who got you into football?

I’ve been playing football since pre-k. My first memories is leaving school and taking me to practice

Was there a play or moment that made you pick your position?

It was actually when I started high school I wanted to come in at receiver and I didn’t feel like I was getting enough reps at receiver so I just switched myself to DB.

What would you say is your strongest football attribute?

I’m just a playmaker, I’m always around the ball and always making plays.

Was there a player you tried to emulate?

Tyrann Mathieu at DB, I watched his LSU highlights a lot. Richard Sherman and Jalen Ramsey where the top DB’s when I was younger so them too.

What differentiates you from the rest?

I always got that dog mentality. When I’m on the field I’m a whole different person…a switch is flipped.

Who is the player you think you play the most alike?

Probably like a Brian Branch.

Favorite football move to hit somebody with?

If I’m shedding a block I like to do a push-pull technique and if I’m at receiver I’ll probably do a split release.

Favorite part about football?

Being a part of a team, the social aspect of playing football

Favorite football movie or show?

Favorite movies are probably The Water boy and the Longest Yard. If I had to go a show I’d say Friday Night Lights.
